Abstract
Medical anthropologist Kristen Smith discusses her book, "Medical Tourism and Inequality in India" with Michael A. Di Giovine, editor of Lexington Books' series, "The Anthropology of Tourism: Heritage, Mobility and Society." They discuss the neoliberalization of medicine and tourism in India, how it caters to global elites at the expense of locals in need, and how anthropological research can employ mixed qualitative and quantitative methods for a truly holistic approach to ethnography.
