Abstract
In a kingdom that has not had a ruler for some time, Vienna Rozark finds herself thrust into the role of Queen. The night of her coronation, she comes home covered in blood from killing her lover because of a debt her father’s death burdened her with. Her roles as an assassin and a ruler collide when she is crowned Queen, where she meets the seemingly handsome and kind Finnegan Tieran, King of the Fae court Lendorr. A plague has been wreaking havoc on his court for some time, killing the immortal fae as no cure can be found. A seer informs Finnegan that he needs half-human, half-fae blood to be spilled at the peak of a mountain in the Fae court to save his people, but it can’t just be any halfling—it must be Vienna. She can’t bring herself to abandon her kingdom after just becoming Queen, so Finnegan kidnaps her, revealing the darkness underneath the kind exterior of the fae King. However, a mysterious presence intervenes and saves her from Finnegan’s brutal guards. Whether that’s for good or bad, she doesn’t know yet.
