Abstract
Within this thesis I showcase the importance of civic action taken by students throughout history in order to properly make needed changes in society. Those changes continue to be inhibited due to the financial barriers and financialization of public higher education throughout the country. However, through engaging students in the education of student activism and higher education history there can be the creation of organizations to ensure students properly can be civically engaged on their campuses and throughout society. Ensuring that all people can go onward to a post-secondary education without such financial barriers. In order to get to that point, there needs to be educational workshop around student activism and civic engagement toward the creation of an organization to fight for students.
