Abstract
Mikel, a young mouse, is a middling rank in his psychic order. But when it comes time for the leader of the Citadel, the great and powerful Moustradamus, to retire, the powers of Destiny choose him to step into the role. But not only Mikel, oh no, but also a Master in the craft, the young and sinister Rathmus. As Mikel trains for his new role, he’ll have to navigate a path laid out with clairvoyant chickens and learn the hazardous arts of the Deplorable Practices all while keeping an eye on Rathmus. The young Master’s family is tied up with the League of Painted Vipers and you never know what might happen to someone who crosses them, even if Mikel is just trying to figure out why he was chosen to lead.
