Abstract

"The Honorable Maid" By Carlo Goldoni. Translated and adapted by John Bellomo. Follow the plight of Bettina, a poor but honorable Venetian girl as she tries to find her way through this classic tale of love, mistaken identity, and sassy servants. First performed during the Venetian Carnival of 1749, it received the audiences' adoration and played for twenty-two nights. Told in a the raucous physical style of the commedia dell'arte, this production is sure to please.
