Abstract
Anthropologist and Director of the WCU Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology Michael A. Di Giovine explores the Gordon Natural Area with its Stewardship Manager, Dr. Nur Ritter. They discuss the connection between the Gordon's foundation and the first Earth Day in 1970; contemporary challenges in its preservation; its biodiversity and contemporary uses as a community center, outdoor laboratory and teaching facility; and they forage for indigenous foods growing naturally in the woodlands.
