Methylone

Methylone in 5% Aqueous HAuCl₄

Methylone in acidic (10% hydrochloric acid) solution when mixed with aqueous gold chloride reagent forms different sized burrs of colorless fine needles. The burrs appear dark in the center where the growth is dense. Under crossed polars, the burrs are very bright and appear yellow with extinct needles at 90o.
