Abstract

The generation of attosecond pulses and following electron dynamics in real time is the subject of the 2023 Noble Prize in Physics awarded to Pierre Agostini, Ferenc Krausz and Anne L’Huillier. Here we describe some advances in lasers and a simple semi-classical Three Step Model that describes high harmonic generation (HHG), which is used to produce attosecond pulses.
